GARLIC BRAAI BREAD

  GARLIC BRAAI BREAD:   Ingredients: 1 baguette, about 40 cm long 1/4 cup butter, softened. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 cup grated Cheddar/Parmesan cheese   Instructions:   1.     Preheat your grill or oven to medium heat. 2.     In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, salt, and pepper. 3.     Spread the garlic butter mixture all in cuts made about 2cm apart and 3/4 through or over the baguette, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies. 4.     Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top. 5.     If you are grilling the bread, wrap in aluminum foil and then place it on the grill directly over the heat. Grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the bread is go lden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. 6.     If you are baking the bread, wrap it in aluminum foil and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is heated through and the cheese are melted and bubbly. 7.     Serve hot and enjoy Tips:   For a more intense garlic

STIR FRY (BEEF)

beef stir fry and rice

 

STIR FRY BEEF:


INGREDIENTS:

2 tablespoons of oil.

500-gram steak cut into thin slices.

2 tablespoons of cornstarch.

4 cups mixed vegetables.

1 Onion finely chopped.

2 Tomatoes diced.

1 Green pepper/red/yellow


 SAUCE:

3 cloves of garlic minced

1/4 teaspoon ginger

⅓ cup orange juice

⅓ cup of water

¼ cup soy sauce

3 tablespoons of brown sugar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch


INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Season steak with salt and pepper. Toss with cornstarch and set aside while you prepare the vegetables.

2) Place 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan or wok. Cook the beef over medium heat until browned, about 3-4 minutes (beef does not need to be cooked). Remove from pan and set aside.

3) Add onions, green pepper and tomatoes then add vegetables to the pan and cook until soft-crisp, 4-5 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside with the beef.

4) Mix sauce ingredients except cornstarch in a bowl and stir well.

5) Turn the heat up to medium-high and add the sauce.

6) Bring to a boil. Combine cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of water (or broth) and add it to the broth a little at a time while whisking to reach the desired consistency.

7) Simmer for 2 minutes. Add vegetables, beef (and any juices) to the pan and cook until heated through.


Serve with rice.


TIPS:

Add vegetables of your choice, mushrooms and broccoli are also a favorite.

You can use any steak.

Or use ground beef or chicken

Can also be served with pasta.
